Over the past few months we've had several conversations with people who manage content teams. Not research — just conversations — but the patterns repeat.
Teams with less chaos typically have a single entry point for all content — a place where you can see what exists, what's in progress, what's ready. Not necessarily a sophisticated tool; sometimes it's just a well-organized board.
Second pattern: a clear separation between "make content" and "publish content." These are different roles, different tools, different timings. When they're mixed together, confusion follows.
Simple things, but their absence is costly.
